Our last day on the Zuiderdam was filled with goodbyes, thank you notes, and mixed feelings of being happy and sad. Happy because we will be heading home soon and sad because this fabulous adventure is coming to an end.

The day started with a presentation that included a recap of all the ports and special experiences we had on this voyage. They also discussed challenges and we overcome all of them and still had an unbelievable journey. The captain spoke and thanked the passengers for joining the crew on the Zuiderdam voyage to French Polynesia and around the Pacific. All the staff from every department went on stage to say thank you. There was thunderous applause and a standing ovation to show appreciation for the staff.

After the staff presentation, we watched a program about the 150 years of Holland America. It was fascinating to learn that the cruise line began as a way for immigrants to go from Holland to America.
The family of our friend from Canada actually came on one of those ships from Holland to Canada. Hearing about her journey and how cruising has changed and adapted was amazing.

It was nostalgic to have our last dance class that was an hour to do all the dances we learned on this cruise; to have our last dinner at the dining room; and our last drinks with our friends.
This cruise and experience is one we will never forget.

Tomorrow we arrive in San Diego. We have one day to explore San Diego and then homeward bound on Friday.
