How to Make a Better You – What Stopped You in the Past, Doesn’t Have to Stop You Today

Are you tired of struggling with health issues? financial issues? relationship issues? life concerns? Now is the time to stop struggling and move forward to stop those past issues from interfering with your life today.
There are areas in your past that have stopped you from being the healthiest and BEST you. These areas could be health concerns like diabetes, heart disease, digestive problems, obesity, or other physical ailments. It might include depression, anxiety, or worry. You possibly are stuck in the same type of relationships again and again. Or it could seem like it is never possible to make ends meet, even when you are trying.
We have a part of our brain – the critter brain – that is afraid of change, even when that change is good for us. In order to make change to help ourselves we need support and to take it slowly.
We all want to be happy, healthy, and fulfilled. However, it seems so difficult to get there. It begins with letting go of the past and moving forward to a better future. That future can start today with making small changes.
Ask yourself, what has stopped me in the past from being happy, healthy, and fulfilled. Right now, take a few minutes and a make a list of those things. Look over that list and ask yourself, do I want to make changes in my life and not allow those things to affect me? The answer is yes. You can let go of the past and make lasting changes. You just need the right guidance and support.
You have often heard the word – Empowered. Well, you truly can be empowered by taking control of your life. You don’t have to let circumstances affect the person you want to be. You just have to learn what person do you want to be and how can you get there.
There are six stages through the 90-Day Transformation Health Coaching program that our services provide. Each session helps you go through this stages and learn the ‘why under the why’ for your behavior, beliefs, and identity. These awareness steps are: 1) take a step back and look at things in a new way. 2) be able to let go of something that is holding you back from moving forward in your health journey to being a better you, 3) saying yes to self by letting go of that resistance or belief,4) taking an empowered action step that we design together, 5) setting up accountability to see the action step be completed, and 6) installing value in yourself.
I have seen a transformation in my own life through this coaching program. As I was learning to become a health coach, I used these methods on myself. My struggle was with digestive issues. Since a child, I had pain in my stomach, bloating, and just uncomfortable ‘gut’ all the time. After 40 plus years of doctors labeling my problem as IBS – C, giving me medicine, taking many tests, trying a variety of different diets, and still not seeing any improvement. I needed a change to get that fulfilled life I wanted and not be in pain anymore.
Through the program, I learned to find out more about myself. I learned about my body, what is best for me, and that what I did in the past can be changed and not stop me from feeling better in the future. I also learned there are many foods that affect the inflammation of my stomach, not just gluten and lactose.
Part of the sessions, is doing what HCI (Health Coach Institute) calls Experiential Exercise. This is where we learn to experiment on our body to see what works best to keep us healthy. Just a reminder, no two bodies are alike; therefore, no two bodies need exactly the same diet.
One of the paradigms that HCI holds true is: your body is the most powerful, least expensive and best experimentation lab in existence. This is because our bodies have innate wisdom beyond any book or authoritarian. So, when you think of your body as a laboratory and a place to do experiments, there are no rights or wrongs, because it is your body and you know what works best.
