When you think of March, you think of Spring. This year Spring officially started on March 20. When you think of Spring you think of a fresh new start. New buds on flowers, the grass grows greener, new birth of birds and other animals. Have you thought about what new things you would like to see in your life?

So many of us feel stuck and don’t see how new things can begin our lives. We only see the mundane same life. For some of us that is in a job, for others of us it may be the daily routine of motherhood. For others it could be in a relationship. The question I have is what value is it to our lives to allow ourselves to feel ‘blah’ in life?

God wants us to live life and live it to the fullest. That means some changes may need to take place in your life. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Cor 5:17

The question is where do you begin to make changes? I call it clearing up the clutter. You cannot make room for the new until you get rid of the old. What habits, things, or circumstances do you need to clear the clutter in? For many of us it could even be in our mind. Do you need to clear up your refrigerator so you can replace unhealthy food with healthy food? Do you need to clear up your old feelings and thoughts so you can add fresh new and healthy thoughts? Do you need to clear up time to have for the things you want to do in life?

These are all great ideas, but it is very hard to do on your own. Having someone to guide you and hold you accountable for clearing out the old and letting the new in is essential to make lasting new changes.

I love to help people and have gone through this process myself. One area of my life I cleared out the clutter was in my relationship with my husband. I was stuck in the past with hurt feelings and bitterness. I couldn’t move past that, which affected our relationship, and I had no room to let new good things enter in our relationship. It took awareness of what I was holding on to and then how to let go of those hurts. We now have better communication of being open and honest and avoiding the bitterness to grow again.

Another area was with my mind. I struggled with constantly comparing myself with others. I never felt like I was a good enough mom, did enough as a wife, wasn’t pretty enough, talented enough, etc. When I accepted there is no such thing as enough, I was on the right path to a new thought process for myself. Each one of us are special, unique, and precious. I have a different purpose than my neighbor and I can’t compare myself to them. I can only be satisfied with person God created me to be. When I accepted this through loving myself exercises, I began to love myself and that helped me in all areas of my life. How can you love others if you can’t love yourself?

I also cleared up time to spend with God. I have noticed in my life every time I take at least seven minutes a day for God, my day seems to go better and feels brighter. In December I began something new… the 7-Minute with God Challenge. As of today, I just finished completing Day 89. Here is the link to the challenge. You can start anytime, and it is a great way to get that time with God each day. My goal is to do a whole year and try not to miss a day.

The final area was with my health. I struggled with digestive problems most of my life. When I cleared out gluten and lactose in my life, my digestion improved which in turn helped me feel better and that flowed over into my relationships and other areas of my life.

As I mentioned earlier, it is hard to know where to begin to make these fresh new changes on your own, however with support and accountability it becomes possible.

As a healthy life coach, I can give you the tools, support, and accountability to help you discover the new changes you need to make in your life so you can experience the fulfilling life you always wanted.
