How to Make a Better You – Live by Faith and Not by Sight

You hear this phrase often: ‘I will believe it when I see it’. The problem is there are so many things that can’t be explained by sight. For example, with the virus outbreak, no one truly knows why it has come, why it has affected the whole world, and when it will end.

All we know is that is here and it is real right now in our lives. We have the choice to worry about each day, worry about the economy, worry about our future, the world’s future. However, where does that get us right now? How does that help us in our current situation? Worry doesn’t help.

What can help is believing that our Great Heavenly Father who loves us so much knows exactly what is going on in the world. He is not surprised by this pandemic nor does He plan to have it go on forever. There are so many verses in the Bible that talk about things that happen in the world that are unexplainable and that are beyond our understanding. All we can do is say I believe, I have faith, I will trust God.

God is the one created us and the world. He only has goodness in store for our lives. However, along the way of life we will go through trials and sufferings, but we are never alone when we go through them. He is always by our side.

Yesterday, on Focus on Freedoms Facebook groups page (which I write weekly inspirations, sometimes biweekly) I shared that we need to live every day to the fullest. Even during this world crisis. Each day our goal should be to see God more clearly, to love God more dearly, and follow God more nearly. The song Day by Day has been an inspiration for me since I was a child at camp. Sometimes as adults we need to be reminded how much we need God in our lives and how we need to let go of anything that is holding us back from having a relationship with our perfect Creator.

God is calling all of us to Him; to remind of His great love for His children; this virus outbreak is our wakeup call. We all need God in the center of our lives. We need to live by faith and not by sight. So Today on 2020 Good Friday are you ready to say Yes, I believe, let go of any inhibitions, and give your whole life to God?

I need to renew my relationship with Him daily through praise songs, submitting the day to Him, and knowing if I try to understand what going on in the world, it only brings me unrest and discourse. However, when I let go of trying to understand and look to my Lord I have peace in my heart knowing He’s got this covered.

Don’t you want to have peace during this craziness in our world? Now is the time to live by faith and not by sight.

Here are some Bible verses that can guide you to having that personal relationship with God:

Job 36:26 - How great is God--beyond our understanding!

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, “declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.

There are many more verses that help you learn how amazing God is. Check out this site to find out more.
