How to Make a Better You – Christ as your Centerpiece for Christmas (and every day)

by Nina Sabin - Healthy Tip

Today is Christmas. Have you asked yourself what is your focus this Christmas Day?

Is it the presents, food, Christmas lights, being with friends and family, Christmas activities, Santa Claus, the spirit of Christmas, financial concerns, relationship problems, etc.? Or is it celebrating the birthday of our Lord and Savior?

Each year one of the first things my family and I do is sing Happy Birthday to Jesus. We make a cake and then sing to Him.

It is too easy this holiday season to get lost in the world’s activities of Christmas, the crazy hustle and bustle of the holiday.

How can you celebrate the birthday of Christ if you don’t have Him as the center of your life?

Today as you wake up with your family, I would recommend reflecting what this season is truly about… the birth of Christ – Our Lord and Savior.

Before my family opens presents this year, we are going to listen to this sermon. The first 10 minutes are the best.

Today ask yourself, is Christ the Centerpiece of your not only your Christmas, but is He the centerpiece of your life?

Too often we allow other things to take his place, finances, relationships, circumstances, jobs, past hurts, etc.

When we do this, we allow turmoil and heartache to take over instead of allowing Jesus to take over.

Here is the bible verse I would like you to focus on today as you contemplate Christ as your centerpiece.

Romans 8:1-39 ESV There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. ...
