How to Make a Better You – Are Games Good for You?

Game Apps are getting a bad reputation. They appear to take time away from exercising and doing physical activity. However, physical exercise is not the only way to stay healthy. Besides your body, your mind, soul and spirit need to be exercised. This is done through stimulating the brain and reducing stress. When people are stressed, then it is difficult to focus, take time to exercise, or grow, and develop.

Games provide an outlet and a way to take a break from the stresses of life. If you find a game you really enjoy, it stimulates your mind and gives a sense of pride. It also provides time to relax and get away for a while.

In my opinion, taking 15 minutes each day to play a game you enjoy will improve your health by relieving stress. It could be a board game or an app on your phone. My favorite game is Word Cookies. It challenges me and when I want a break.

As we get older and reach retirement age, we need to also keep our brain stimulated; playing games is a great way to do that.

The next time you feel stressed or bored, find the game you enjoy most or try a new game – take your break and challenge yourself and make a better you.
